MASS MEDIA AND GLOBAL WARMING
We are told with media such as google, Encyclopedia.com | Free Online Encyclopedia to expect the worst, and to prepare ourselves for great sacrifices and sweeping changes that will effect us not just at the environmental level, but also at a very real economic level. My concern here is why other medias are not used especially in our daily lives to communicate with us about global warming, what is happening to the uneducated people about this issues. Not everyone in the world knows about global warming especially if you didn't go to school at all or you did not do science or geography at school or other institutions. Why is global warming not well known and understood by people like the HIV and AIDS issue in the world because it covers everyone whether young or old and rich or poor, what is happening to the influence of the media such as television, newspapers online news and workshops that we can find in our everyday life. Our states in the world they only talk about it once it has acted in a harmful way why, is it because of they don't want to scary the publics or people or live them with everyday life fear, if that's the case then when are we facing the reality?

true that when are we facing the reality because glabal warming does exist, I started knowing about global warming when i started studying Contex.

DeleteGlobal warming is a serious issue and needs to be treaded as such by the media, continous reports about it should be present at all times, not only on events such as the COP17
ReplyDeleteThank you Nic atleast you and I we on the same page, and that means as PR student if we can take more effort before its too late some of its effect can be prevented and People will be knowledgable no matter educated or uneducated and radio broadcast can be used to reach out peole because it the most simple with different kinds of languages.

ReplyDeleteI understand that people dont know about global warming because the media those not talk about it as much as they talk about HIV. I cant deny that i did not know about Global Warming either.
Ohk I am sory about the found I used and thank you that you were able to read and understand what I was trying to say. Our states take this issue for granted as well as media to address it. Thank you for stating the fact that you also did not know anything about global warming that shows that much effort need to be taken to address this issue.

ReplyDeleteIts too bad my sister,just think of the seasonal changes that we experience, high temperatures that live us sick, the flooding.
Deletei think the reason why not so many people know about global warming is because they do not see the effectsof it.with hiv/aids on the other hand we see people dying ecveryday fom it,however with global warming you cannot really see someone actually dying from it.This is why we take it so lightly.
ReplyDeleteAs South African I think we the ones who do not see it effect combinng the fact that we do not have experience of it that is why we are too ignorant, but the question is the flooding that took place early this year in South Africa did you manage to get it cause?
